BPCA Member Awards help shine a light on excellence within the industry. At Pest Solutions, we are dedicated to leading the way in professionalism in the pest control industry and it is a great reward for the hard would of every member of our team to be nominated as finalists for 4 of the 8 open categories at the 2022 awards.
Pest Solutions have been nominated as finalists in the following award categories:
We would like to congratulate all of the other finalists on being nominated with us. It is a great honour to be a 4 x finalist in this year’s awards but this is only made the case when we are up against worthy peers among the best in the industry.
The entire team at Pest Solutions wish all of the finalists the best of luck on the 8th of April.
We are proud to have been nominated as finalists for the 2022 BPCA Business Growth & Innovation Award. Here at Pest Solutions, we have seen our business grow significantly in the last few years.
In the last 18 months, we have doubled in size of the business with 72% growth alone in the last year. We remain on target to double our business again in the next 18-24 months, becoming the largest independent in Scotland by 2023. We have achieved this by strong sales, maintaining high-quality standards and a customer retention rate of over 98%.
Not focusing on only technology innovation but also on our people, investing in building the right team culture on the foundational principles of training for professionalism and achieving excellence in customer service.
We want to maintain growth whilst maintaining this culture, ensuring we make a minimum impact on the environment and keeping humane practices at the forefront of everything that we do. Our team is our core strength and we have committed ourselves to build well by bringing in the right people, creating the right culture for them to thrive and supporting growth & personal development. Focusing on being a customer service company first and a pest control company second. Building the mindset that our team delight in excellent customer service, as a result, professionalism is the by-product.
It is an honour to be nominated finalists in this award and we offer our congratulations to the other worthy finalists that we will be up against on the 8th of April.
Best Of Luck To All The Finalists Of The 2022 BPCA Business Growth & Innovation Award:
We were proud to win this award in 2021 and delighted to be in a position to be able to defend the “Commitment To Training” Award in 2022.
Of all of the things, we would hope to be recognised for as a business the greatest is in how we invest in our people. We are only as good as each and every Pest Solutions team member that is out on the front line looking after our customers and protecting public health every day.
Being recognised again for this award gives us great confidence that we are continuing to invest in the skills and training of our team. We strongly believe that driving professionalism in the industry by having the best-trained team will ensure that we look after our customers better. The better our people can be the more our business will thrive.
We are glad to see that there are other companies in the industry that share our commitment to training and commend the example set by the other finalists. We are more than happy to be competing with the other finalists over-investment in professionalism rather than who can be the cheapest.
Best Of Luck To All The Finalists Of The 2022 BPCA Commitment To Training Award:
This award is designed to acknowledge an outstanding portfolio of CPD activities and highlight the importance of CPD in our industry. We are proud of our own Kevin Pugh for being nominated as a finalist in this award for the second year in a row.
Kevin Pugh joined Pest Solutions in November 2019 at the age of 39 as a trainee pest control technician. Since joining the company Kevin has firmly established himself with the reputation of being a true professional.
As an incredibly positive and supportive colleague to his team members, he has gained the respect of our entire team and is adored by his customers.
Kevin could not be more dedicated to learning and passing on his knowledge to others in the team.
He is focused on being the best and most professional pest controller he can be and achieved 128 CPD points in 2020 and 162 CPD points in 2021.
His hard work and dedication were recognised in being highly commended in this award last year and winning the 2021 UK National Pest Awards “Techncian of The Year”.
Kevin aspires to achieve the certified field biologist and RSPH Level 3 award in pest management. He is an incredible asset in our team, and we are grateful to have him as part of our team and business.
Best Of Luck To All The Finalists Of The 2022 BPCA Outstanding CPD Award:
This award is designed to recognise those working behind the scenes who keep the industry going. Congratulations to our Finance Director, Hayley Rafferty, for being nominated as a finalist in the Spotlight Award.
Hayley joined Pest Solutions in 2015 as trainee accounts administrator. Joining the business as our first recruit only a few months after we had taken over the business.
She had started open university training to work towards achieving her accountancy qualifications.
The efficiency of the systems Hayley has implemented allow us to run the business with an admin team of 2 in addition to herself overseeing finances. That represents finances and admin support needs of 34 people in Pest Solutions. More impressive as she leads the same admin team to deliver the entire admin and finance department for 2 other similar sized businesses.
In 2019 Hayley took a year away on maternity leave to start a family. Although the management team were appreciative of what having her on the team means for how the business runs it was only in her absence, we understood just how much of an essential part of the success of our business she represents.
In October 2021 Hayley was promoted to Financial Director of Pest Solutions. A well-earned reward for her dedication and a sensible move for the business to give her the recognition for her contribution.
Hayley loves working within the business and is very protective of it and our team with the passion and care you would expect of the most dedicated owner.
We could not ask for a safer pair of hands than Hayley’s.
