On a memorable night of celebration, Pest Solutions was announced as the winners of the 2024 “Large Company of the Year” award and the 2024 “Pest Business of the Year” award at the National Pest Awards.
Picture a fun and festive night with good food, great music and the wonderful opportunity to meet, network and celebrate with many in this industry and you’ve got The National Pest Awards. It is a highly regarded annual pest awards event in the UK, hosted by Pest Magazine at the Hilton London Bankside Hotel, which recognises and celebrates all the incredible work done by the remarkable people in this industry.
We had 8 integral members of our Pest Solutions team take the train and head down to London to represent us on this night of celebration: Chris Cagienard, Andy Hart, Iain Marks, Gemma Sutherland, Rebekah Simpson, Chloe Smith, Iain MacKinnon, and Maisie Bullock.
There were 10 prestigious award categories and the competition was fierce! We were named finalists in 5 of the award categories and we are proud to say that we, at Pest Solutions, have won 2 notable awards this year at the 2024 National Pest Awards. Pest Solutions was announced as the winners of the 2024 “Large Company of the Year” award and the 2024 “Pest Business of the Year” 2024 award.
We wish to congratulate everyone shortlisted for the awards and all the other award winners on the work they have done and their well-deserved wins.
We like to thank the wonderful Michael Sims, the UK/Ireland and Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Manager at Bell Laboratories, for his warm welcome and the generous hospitality he showed our team on this memorable evening.
Pest Solutions being named the winner of the 2024 “Large Company of the Year” award, which was sponsored by Bell Laboratories, is such a great honour. It’s a highly coveted award in the UK pest control industry that recognises companies with 20 or more service technicians who have gone above and beyond to deliver an exceptional calibre of service to their customers.
We at Pest Solutions are proud to say that we have been finalists for this award for the three consecutive years, after being named as finalists in this category in 2022 and 2023. Winning the top prize this year is a testament to the significant growth we have achieved as a company. During this time, we made sure that we continued to keep our standards sky high while creating a company culture that values its people and their remarkable capabilities. We think our very own Gemma Sutherland’s winning streak of being awarded “Young Pest Controller of The Year” 2022 and “Pest Controller of The Year” 2023, inspired us and spurred us on to win big this year.
Large Company of the Year 2024:
Pest Solutions being named the 2024 “Pest Business of The Year” means a lot to us. This award, which was sponsored by Syngenta, has the judges look at the winners of the four of the categories and decide who will be crowned the overall winner of the National Pest Awards 2024. We were up against strong contenders to all of whom we extend our heartfelt congratulations to the well-earned awards they won on this night.
At Pest Solutions, we have made a commitment to not only offering our customers an excellent standard of service, but to also challenge a lot of the tired notions and misconceptions people have about pest controllers and the pest control industry. Our very own Managing Director Chris Cagienard said, “People paint us with a different brush from the one we deserve to be painted with that we’re, a bunch of aging, gruff men that kill things for a living. I think it’s important to show people that, pest control is not what you think it is. What we find is, when we got people engaged and enjoying their job, they are more productive.”
Pest Business of the Year 2024:

We are delighted to see the company’s collective efforts recognised on the national stage and we would like to acknowledge that winning these awards wouldn’t have been possible without all the exceptional work and dedication from every single person who is part of Pest Solutions.
We want to take the time to acknowledge our incredible finalists. While they may not have won the top prizes this year, we know that everyone in these categories were strong contenders all of whom deserved to win. We are proud of our finalists and wish to recognise them for their professionalism, dedication and enthusiasm for the work that they do and all their hard work.
We wish to recognise Iain Mackinnon, who was a finalist for Pest Controller of the Year 2024. Iain is a talented service technician who first joined Pest Solutions in 2022 and has quickly become a vital part of our team.
Iain’s willingness to go the extra mile for both his customers and colleagues combined with his earnest and admirable to help people makes him an amazing pest controller.
Congratulations to Josh Bates (Cleankill Pest Control) for winning the 2024 “Pest Controller of the Year” award:
We wish to recognise Chloe Smith, who was a finalist for Young Pest Controller of the Year 2024. This award recognises phenomenal young pest controllers under the age of 30 who are committed to constantly learning and building their skills through training.
Chloe’s professionalism and strong work ethic has impressed us since she first joined us as a graduate service technician in 2021. It is no wonder Chloe is so well liked amongst her peers, customers and colleagues.
Congratulations to Aaron Scott, (John O’Conner) for winning the 2024 “Young Pest Controller of the Year” award:
We wish to recognise Maisie Bullock for all her efforts in helping us build and drive our sustainability initiative forward. As our Net Zero and Sustainability Coordinator, Maisie and her helpful recommendations have been a driving force in moving us towards being industry leaders in sustainable pest control in the UK.
